A sandy natural beach stretches from the estuary of the Ano River to Toyotsu fishing port in Tsu city. Natural shore vegetation is maintained on this beach. Sandy beach also stretches north of Toyotsu fishing port. Large flocks of Herring Gull and Black-headed Gull visit every spring and autumn. Sanderling and Dunlin are common in this beach. More than 200 Sanderlings are recorded every autumn, and a part of which winters there. Kentish Plover makes its nest on the shore. Red-breasted Merganser, Greater Scaup, and Common Goldeneye are common in winter but are on the sea far off the shore.
